About the role
Are you passionate about improving digital health access for older Australians?
As Northern Queensland Primary Health Network’s (NQPHN’s) Senior Digital Capability Officer, you’ll play a key role in delivering impactful digital health initiatives across our three regional sites. You'll combine online and in-person support to help aged care providers adopt and use digital tools effectively. From boosting digital health maturity in community and residential aged care homes to enhancing access to virtual care in rural and remote areas, this role is about making a real difference—one connection at a time.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate that they can:

Support aged care homes to deliver quality virtual care through the right facilities, technology, and staff training.

Contribute to after-hours care planning and training in aged care settings.

Collaborate with aged care providers, community services, and health services to deliver education and integration support.

Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Gather and report on data to support program evaluation and improvement.

Identify and escalate risks related to digital health in aged care.

Support national digital health priorities including My Health Record, secure messaging, data quality, and workforce training.
Key Selection Criteria

Tertiary qualifications in a health-related discipline and/or two years’ relevant work experience specifically in primary health care.

Understanding of the technological and digital systems used in aged care in Australia.

Demonstrated knowledge and skills in information technology.

Working knowledge of the capabilities of common digital health systems such as clinical information systems or customer relationship management (CRM) systems.

Working knowledge or experience with the My Health Record Provider registration process.

Skills in dealing with confidential and sensitive information in a professional manner.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to network and work collaboratively with a wide range of professionals and consumers.

Advanced skills with the Microsoft Office suite and the ability to become proficient in other software programs as required.
