Work. If you’re an experienced electrician who’s ready to step into a true technical role, this is your opportunity to lead from the front.
As a Senior Electrical Officer at Sunwater, you’ll be the subject matter expert for all electrical matters in the region—supporting teams on the ground, guiding complex fault finding and ensuring critical infrastructure operates safely and reliably every day.
This is a hands‑on role where you stay close to the work while leading a small but capable team. From complex installs to emergency repairs, you’ll provide the technical direction, oversight and decision‑making that keeps everything moving.
As a Senior Electrical Officer at Sunwater, you will:
- Use your experience to provide expert support to trades across complex installations, fault finding and maintenance activities.
- Take ownership of electrical safety, compliance and audit processes across the region.
- Act as the Qualified Technical Person (QTP), ensuring all electrical work meets regulatory and AS/NZS standards.
- Lead and coordinate emergency and critical electrical works, including planning, recovery and repair activities.
- Support teams with technical problem‑solving, investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Build capability within the team through coaching, training and knowledge sharing.
This role includes participation in an on‑call roster, so you’ll play a key part in responding when it matters most.
About you:
You’re a highly experienced electrical professional who enjoys leading technically while still staying hands‑on. You’ll bring:
- 10+ years post‑trade experience with a Cert III Electrical qualification.
- QTP Electrical Contractors Licence and HV switching certification.
- Strong experience in fault finding, maintenance and high‑risk electrical environments.
- A solid understanding of compliance, safety systems and risk management.
- The ability to lead, influence and support teams while making confident technical decisions.
On offer is a competitive salary of $128,897 plus 12.75% super, access to banked time, 17.5% leave loading and a strong focus on work/life balance.
