We take great care to provide safe, sustainable, and competitive seaport services to efficiently facilitate imports and exports through our Queensland ports.

About the Role:

Reporting to the General Manager Commercial and Marine Services, you will play a key role in in the senior management team. The Senior Manager Commercial & Trade Development position is a multi-faceted and operational role which will lead the commercial functions and oversee commercial activities, while driving the business strategy in line with NQBP corporate plan. The role is integral in identifying new trade development opportunities, and providing commercial opportunities that create value for both NQBP potential and existing client base.

You will be a dedicated leader, who is involved in managing and developing the talent pool to meet the current and future needs of the operations and trade facilitation at NQBP. Other responsibilities include contributing to the integration and application of safety, security, risk management, and sustainability frameworks across the business, and ensuring compliance with policies and relevant legislation.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Planning, Management, or equivalent,
  • Significant management experience in major infrastructure projects, logistics, and an understanding of shipping.
  • Significant experience in the management and marketing of a port or similar infrastructure facility, contract negotiation,
  • Demonstrated knowledge of general port operations, shipping characteristics, marketing principles, financial processes and budgeting, and tenure and property management.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and high-level abilities in stakeholder management and establishing effective relationships with a diverse range of clients and stakeholders.
