A rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Manufacturing Manager who will provide strong and effective leadership, planning and resources to our close-knit team at our Bajool plant. In this critical role, you will achieve zero harm, safe systems of work, quality, performance, financial objectives and operational targets.

Reporting to the Executive Manufacturing, Maintenance & Engineering Manager, you will motivate, inspire and keep your people safe and well, whilst ensuring all aspects of the manufacturing management processes are followed in a consultive manner. 

Core accountabilities include:

  • Promote Zero Harm – commit to working safely and lead a positive safety culture.
  • Asset performance – ensure planned and un-planned maintenance is carried out to a very high standard.
  • Manufacturing disciplines – manage the manufacturing operations in accordance with the Company’s standards, policies and procedures.
  • Performance measurement – maintain a focus on operational performance through KPIs
  • Compliance – ensure compliance with all manufacturing requirements, with a strong focus on process safety systems.
  • Integrity – Make every effort to lead by example and be fair, honest, dependable, and professional in the work environment.
  • Teamwork – Work effectively with all stakeholders to deliver an optimum outcome.
  • Client relationship and value creation – sustain maximum output with minimum risk, being flexible and ensuring our business team can service our customers.
  • High Performance – Set and communicate achievable goals with your team.

About you

Essential requirements:

  • Significant experience in manufacturing & MHF management
  • Considerable asset management and maintenance planning experience
  • Demonstrated positive safety leadership skills and safety behaviour
  • Strong knowledge of dangerous goods and explosives legislation
  • Strong knowledge of process safety systems and associated regulatory requirements
  • Logistics and supply chain knowledge
  • Ability to multitask and manage various project elements simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal skills (written, verbal and listening)
  • Intermediate level of computer literacy and the ability to analyse data
  • Ability to develop strong, long-term relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Supervisor and process risk training (S123 & G2 highly regarded)
  • Valid QLD Explosives Security Clearance (or ability to obtain)
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment

Desirable requirements:

  • Relevant Tertiary Qualifications – Process Safety / Engineering 
  • Qualifications and experience in the manufacturing and supply industries
  • Project Management skills
  • Experience in a similar role
