About Us:

Bidgerdii Community Health Service is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community controlled primary health care service, operating in the Rockhampton and Central Queensland region for close to 30 years. The organisation is a bulk billing community-controlled health service, managed by a Board of Directors who oversee and manage the strategic directions of the service.

 

Bidgerdii provides comprehensive primary health and well-being services to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community in the Rockhampton and surrounding regions. Bidgerdii collaborates with health and well-being partner agencies to enable integrated continuity of care for the community and continue to work to contribute to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health policy and program reform in Queensland.

Are you ready for a Deadly career shift that truly makes an impact? Bidgerdii Community Health Service is seeking a Senior Registered Nurse (Team Leader) to head our clinical team in preventative care, chronic disease management, and hands-on care.

This isn’t just a nursing job—it’s a chance to connect with your community, manage care plans, and deliver health education that changes lives. You’ll oversee Rheumatic Heart Disease care, Sexual Health and all preventative health screenings, and handle ECGs, wound care, and pathology services in a positive, supportive environment.

What We Need from You:

  • Registered Nurse with AHPRA registration and 3+ years of clinical experience (preferably in primary healthcare or chronic disease management).
  • Nurse Immuniser certified, compliant with Queensland legislation.
  • Hands-on clinical skills: Comfortable with ECGs, wound care, pathology collections, venepuncture, and vaccinations.
  • Leadership Experience: Previous experience in team leadership, managing a daily skill mix, and overseeing workflow in a clinical setting.
  • Passion for Preventative Health: Strong belief in health education and preventative screenings to reduce disease within the community.
  • Cultural Sensitivity: Understanding of and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health practices, ensuring culturally safe care.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Able to communicate effectively with your team and the community, working in a collaborative environment.
