We are on the lookout for dynamic, self-motivated Shotfirers to join our growing Platinum family, we have permanent fulltime positions available within the Bowen and Gailee basins.
Reporting to the Site Supervisor, these positions will be offered on a 7:7 even time roster with flexible travel arrangements dependent on site and location.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Leading blasting operations with precision and efficiency
- Guiding and supporting the blast crew to enhance their performance and develop their skills
- Overseeing the maintenance and safety of all blasting equipment
- Maintaining accurate records of blasting activities and inventory
- Proactively solving technical and operational issues during blasting activities
- Prioritising safety protocols and ensuring regulatory compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations
You will have:
- Previous experience as a Shotfirer preferably within the coal sector
- Knowledge of explosives, blasting techniques and safety procedures
- Relevant certifications, licences and clearances required to carry out the duties of the role
- Proven leadership and team management skills
- A can-do attitude, excellent communication skills and problem-solving abilities
- A commitment to safety, quality, and environmental standards
- The ability to pass pre-employment checks inclusive of medicals and national background checks
