Alchemy Recruitment is currently partnered with a successful natural energy resource provider who are seeking an experienced Shutdown Project Controls Specialist in the Bowen Basin.

Overview:
Join a Leading Owners Side Engineering Team to proactively and accurately provide scheduling, reporting, and analysis of project performance. This role is crucial for ensuring project success and aligning with business objectives. Experience with dragline and shovel maintenance or fixed plant shutdowns is highly regarded but not essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect, analyse, and report project cost and schedule control data to assess overall project status.
  • Track schedule progress and adherence while identifying potential budget and timeline risks.
  • Develop forecasts and recovery plans to support project managers.
  • Manage project costs and schedules throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring accuracy.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain dashboards to support decision-making and cost predictability 
  • Maintain industry leading project controls through innovation and simplification
Experience & Competencies:
  • 5+ years of experience in project controller positions within mining or heavy industry
  • Exposure dragline and shovel maintenance or fixed plant shutdowns (ideal)
  • Trade or engineering qualifications, mech or elec
  • Strong background in project controls, cost analysis, and scheduling.
  • Basic knowledge of contract and construction management.
  • Ability to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SAP4HANA (ideal)
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

FIFO/DIDO role with an attractive 5:2 roster, including a WFH day (with potential for more flexibility depending on project). FIFO from Brisbane, with accommodation and meals provided.
