Site Account Manager

Job Description


Due to an internal promotion, we are seeking a Site Account Manager to join our Asia Pacific East Sales and Services team. You will be responsible for building and maintaining long term relationships with key decision makers at our customer sites, continuously promoting Metso’s value add offering. 

Located in either Brisbane, Mackay, Mt Isa, Darwin or Townsville, you will report to the Senior Sales Manager. This role will include up to 60% of travel. 

Team you belong to

You will join a team of sales professionals who are passionate about putting the customer in the centre and getting it done together. The account management team works closely with our technical sales support, customer service, field service, business/product lines and other support teams to ensure a healthy business with high customer satisfaction. The members in our team are located across the East Coast.

What you’ll do

  • Responsible for delivering profitable business growth 
  • Focus on after market business area, as well as identifying the investment/capex opportunities for the wider business
  • Plan the activities of any Metso function at the site
  • Seek and coordinate the best resources and channels to be used for customer facing activities
  • Understand our customer business and is capable to present Metso’s added value
  • Drive site sales activities, together with cross organizational site account team. Understand customer’s capex and opex related decisions and buying timetable
  • Drive account planning and implementation (strategy, relationship, site level budgeting, activity plan, sales roadmap and plan) 
  • Maintain and share information of installed base, performance and shutdown schedules and plan
  • Orchestrate customer satisfaction surveys and closed loop activities – ensuring continuous improvement activities
  • Supports Accounts Receivable and payment collections
  • Ensure account data is up-to-date in customer relationship management (CRM) systems

Who you are

  • Minimum 5 years of direct sales experience 
  • Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or Metallurgist studies, or similar engineering discipline
  • Site and/or mineral processing experience would be advantageous 
  • Proven track record in achieving sales targets
  • Intermediate understanding of accounting procedures including profit and loss, budgets and gross margins
  • Intermediate level of computer literacy in MS Office – Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Must have current motor vehicle license and passport
  • Must be able to travel up to 60% of the time by motor vehicle and commercial flights
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
