SMP Supervisor

Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a seasoned SMP Supervisor to join the owner's team of a landmark hydrogen project in Gladstone, QLD. This role involves managing teams and coordinating subcontractors to ensure that structural, mechanical, and piping (SMP) works are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Facilitate and oversee contractor operations, ensuring all tasks are executed according to schedule and budget.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of contractor documentation and provide reports.
  • Participate in regular meetings with contractors to ensure alignment.
  • Collaborate with the Environment and Approvals team to guarantee compliance.
  • Keep meticulous project documentation, including design modifications, field reports, and communication records.
  • Ensure construction contractors meet all project expectations.
  • Act as the primary technical liaison between construction contractors and the design team.

 

Requirements
  • 5-10+ years of experience in managing and coordinating SMP activities on major projects.
  • Preferred background in renewable energy, oil & gas, or mining sectors.
  • Proficient in managing specialized packages for multi-discipline greenfield projects.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a knack for problem-solving.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Solid understanding of planning, scheduling, and project control methodologies.
  • Local candidates from the Gladstone area are highly desirable.
