THE POSITION

We are currently offering a full-time position for a person to join our firm as a Solicitor.  

Qualifications & experience

• Bachelor of Laws

• Graduate diploma of legal practice

• At least 12 months Post Admission Experience in Crime and Family Law essential.

• Accredited for Duty Lawyer in the Magistrates Court or be willing to obtain the accreditation

• Accredited for Duty Lawyer in the Children's Court or be willing to obtain the accreditation

• Accredited for Duty Lawyer in the Domestic and Family Violence Court or be willing to obtain the accreditation

Tasks & responsibilities

• Prepare and handle different types of legal matters

• Work in the fields of Domestic Violence, Family Law and Criminal Law

• Represent clients in court (Magistrates Court, District Court, Children's Court, Children's Court of Queensland, Supreme Court, Appeal Courts, Federal Circuit and Family Law Court)

• Draft of legal documents

• Legal and Case Law Research

   

The position requires:-

• Bachelor of Laws and Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice

• Admitted to the roll of the Supreme Court of Queensland or equivalent and has a current Practising Certificate and ability to obtain one

• Excellent communication, advocacy and organisational skills.

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

• Legal Aid Portal

• PEXA System

• Smokeball System
