Steel Fabrication Apprenticeship

2025 Apprentice applications are now open!

Origin Group (QLD) Pty Ltd are currently seeking suitable Steel Fabrication Apprentices to join our Engineering Team commencing 2025. The positions will be based at our Paget Workshop, but the successful applicant can be directed to work anywhere within the Mackay Region & Bowen Basin area as required.

To be considered for this position you will have:

• Relevant experience or a genuine interest in “Steel Fabrication and Welding” (Fabrication)
• Completed Year 10 Education (minimum)
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Exceptional time management and punctuality
• Strong safety awareness
• Excellent attention to detail
• Keen customer service focus
• Clean and tidy work manner
• Positive Attitude
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Current Drivers Licence and reliable transport (or ability to get)

What we are offering:

• Competency based Apprenticeship (4 Years)
• On the job training as well as nationally accredited training
• Ongoing coaching, mentoring and support to complete Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade

Origin Group (QLD) Pty Ltd is a Mackay Local Engineering Company that specialize in Fabrication, Engineering, Mechanical Installation and Mechanical repairs to the Mining, Sugar, Petro-chemical, Agricultural and Construction industries. Due to customer demand and required services we have recently upgraded to a new facility designed to enable us to increase the scale of projects and size of fabrications we can offer.
