Store Manager - Woodman's Trade
Are you a natural leader with a passion for retail and trade? We’re looking for an experienced Store Manager to take the reins of our hardware and trade supply store in Proserpine, Queensland.
Woodman’s Trade forms part of the Woodman Group of Companies, which is a locally owned and operated business that has been in the Mackay, Whitsundays and Capricornia region for over 75 years. Our operations include Hardware & Trade retail, Manufacturing of Roofing products, Manufacturing of Glass & Aluminium windows and doors, Paint retail, Manufacturers of timber and steel wall frames and trusses. Our stores are located in Mackay, Proserpine, Rockhampton, Yeppoon, Beenleigh and Jimboomba

About the Role
As Store Manager, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the store, ensuring smooth business performance and an excellent customer experience. You’ll lead a dedicated team, manage stock and merchandising, build relationships with trade customers, and drive sales and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and develop a small, motivated team
- Oversee daily store operations and ensure exceptional customer service
- Manage inventory, purchasing, and supplier relationships
- Build strong connections with local trades and the wider community
- Monitor sales performance and implement growth strategies
- Ensure compliance with safety, policy, and company standards
About You
We’re looking for someone with a hands-on approach and a genuine interest in the hardware or building supplies industry.
You’ll have:
- Previous retail or trade management experience (hardware and building preferred)
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- A focus on safety, service, and teamwork
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
Forklift licence or hardware product knowledge will be highly regarded.
