Job Description

Mackellar is one of Australia’s largest mining equipment & service providers in Mining and Civil Earthmoving. We are also the mining services contractor for Bravus’ Carmichael Mine and together we are creating jobs and opportunities for regional Queensland. 

Due to expanding our Technical team on site, we have an opportunity for experienced Surveyors to join the team.

Being part of a well known company, you will get exposure to all aspects of the operation.
  • Measure volumes of material moved, and blasted and peg out areas to be mined and 
  • Survey mine configuration and control, locate blast and exploration holes and update site plans
  • Maintain an effective mechanism for reconciling coal mining and overburden production with expected or planned performance
  • Maintain systems to analyse and support the regular tracking and continuous improvement around loss and dilution in coal mining.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary studies in Surveying or relevant discipline
  • Authorised Mine Surveyor Grade 2
  • Experience as a surveyor in open cut coal mining operations
  • Strong knowledge of surveying principles and roles involving reconciliation
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Sound computer skills in Vulcan, Microsoft Office and Point Studio
  • G1,8,9 & G2
  • Drivers licence
  • CASA Drone License preferred but not necessary
