About the Role

The Technology & Cyber Security department are seeking applications from experienced technology candidates to fill the position of Systems Engineer.

As the Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the network and infrastructure systems that support the organisation's IT systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the availability, reliability, and security of the operational systems network infrastructure, on-premise server infrastructure, and cloud-based systems. Additionally, you will contribute to DevOps tasks such as automation, configuration management, and deployment processes to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.

Reporting to the Infrastructure Lead and working in a dedicated team, you will be accountable for:

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable and reliable systems infrastructure to support our business operations.
  • Lead the planning and execution of infrastructure projects, from requirements gathering to deployment.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior team members and cross-functional teams.
  • Perform system monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Evaluate new technologies and make recommendations for infrastructure enhancements and improvements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

About You

We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic person who is a self-starter, problem solver and adept at working within a busy collaborative team environment.

  • Tertiary qualification in Information Technology or relevant industry certifications
  • Experience within a similar role providing expert systems engineering advice
  • Demonstrated experience in the resources industry (e.g. mining, oil, gas, utilities, aviation).
  • Current ‘C’ class driver’s license
  • Ability to obtain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC)
  • Ability to work after-hours and on-call.
