UpCare are experiencing rapid growth in the Rockhampton area, and we are seeking another Team Leader to join our current management team. Based in Rockhampton you will be responsible for the quality management of 2-3 Supported Independent Living Homes plus Community Access participants and more as we grow!

UpCare are a registered NDIS provider specialising in Supported Independent Living accommodation and Community Access for NDIS participants. We are seeking a Leader who can contribute to managing a successful team using your client-centred approach, time management skills, values and experience within a positive, solutions focussed workplace.

As a Team Leader in NDIS Disability Services, your role is to manage current disability services provided to UpCare participants within UpCare’s SIL Homes, participants own homes and the throughout the community. The role will be to manage participants needs to help achieve their independence goals and to manage and lead our support worker staff effectively. This role includes rostering our team of support staff and driving growth of our disability services throughout the Rockhampton region by networking with all stakeholders in the community.

You will play a leading role in ensuring the high quality of our service delivery incorporating best practices to ensure the standard of services we provide to our participants exceed expectations. 

You will be working closely with our Team Leader in Rockhampton and our staff, and you will be mentored where required by the Operations Manager and join part of the broader Leadership Team. 

You will continue the development of our human services and be able to follow and improve our disability policies and procedures and contribute to leading in the strategic direction of UpCare.

 

You will join and be part of a supportive, friendly, professional, and dedicated team committed to a client cantered approach in everything we do!

  • You will have a recognised tertiary qualification in Disability, Community Services or Human Services or other relevant disciplines and industry experience either as a Team Leader in the disability sector or Equivalent experience managing a team in a proactive and professional manner.
  • At least 2 years demonstrated experience working in the disability sector as a team leader or management experience leading a team and/or experience working with people who have a diagnosed mental health condition. This position would be well suited to a Team Leader, Ward Clerk or Health Administrator who is highly organised, efficient and has rostering experience with relevant care management software such as Visual Care or similar.
  • You must have strong networking skills and be an effective communicator to enable you to raise the profile of UpCare Disability Services within the disability services sector and grow the business to ensure profitability.
  • Experience working in collaboration with other professionals in the disability, mental health sector and Office of the Public Guardian and experience managing families and relatives of participants.
  • Experience in business development and growing a disability service is highly desirable.

 

About you:

Our ideal applicant will hold at least one of the following qualifications Diploma of Human Services or other relevant discipline or related field or 3+ years’ experience in a similar role. Experience working in the public sector or social care system will be highly regarded.

A comprehensive working knowledge of the NDIS and appropriate legislation will also be expected.
