Technical Asset Officer

Council is seeking to appoint a two (2) Technical Asset Officers, one permanent full time and one maximum term full time to contribute to Council’s success. The maximum term opportunity is for secondment leave coverage with a projected end date of February 2025.

  • Full Time, 9-day fortnight
  • Flexible work arrangements available, including hybrid work
  • Located in Calliope

About the Role

The purpose of this position is to manage and maintain Councils infrastructure asset register in accordance with relevant Australian standards, legislation, Councils Asset Management system and best practice.

You will bring: 

  • Previous experience in a technical work environment, implementation and maintenance of asset management systems spatial information systems and associated applications.
  • Technical knowledge and experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, reports, spatial information and data.
  • Problem solving, initiative, judgement and work organisational skills to effectively complete tasks simultaneously and within timeframes.
  • Current Work Safely in the Construction Industry (White Card).
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
  • Sound communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient keyboard skills and experience using Microsoft Office Suite and operating corporate business systems.
  • Time management, planning and work organisational skills to achieve work priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Legally able to drive a motor vehicle in Queensland.
