About the role
You will own the front end of the business in Central Queensland. You will find the work by knowing which plants are due, which shuts are coming, and who is worried about what. You will qualify opportunities, sorting real opportunities from tyre kicking before engineers spend time on them. You will convert opportunities by getting to the decision and getting the order. You will capture the need by sitting with the site team, walking the plant, and filling out the scoping template properly so engineers know exactly what is being asked. You will hand over scope to the engineering team, who write and issue the formal scope to the client. You will field practical questions by phone after the scope lands, and send anything back to the drawing board when the client needs it changed. You will keep the pipeline honest in the CRM so the business can plan resourcing against it.

About us
Mincka is a structural and mechanical engineering consultancy that keeps fixed plant standing up and running. We conduct periodic structural inspections, condition assessments, fitness for service and remnant life assessments, all certified by RPEQ registered engineers. Coal handling and preparation plants are our home ground. We work for Tier 1 operators across the Bowen Basin and nationally, and our reports are what site teams use to decide what gets repaired in the next shut and what can safely wait.
How to apply
If that reads like you, we want to hear from you properly, not just see a CV. A resume will not show us whether your relationships in the Basin are live, whether you have ever carried a number, or whether you have the standing to tell an engineer his detail cannot be built. So tell us.
Attach your CV and answer three questions. A few lines on each is plenty.
-
Which Bowen Basin sites have you worked on in the last twelve months, and are you currently inducted?
-
A structural repair job you scoped or priced, and what you got wrong in the estimate.
-
A time you told an engineer his detail could not be built, and what happened.
Plain writing is fine. We will read every one.
