About the Role
 
Are you a practical person, with excellent hands-on skills, mechanical aptitude, and attention to detail? Emerald Carrying Company are currently seeking an experienced Trades Assistant to join the team at our Mackay Depot. This full-time, permanent opportunity reports directly to the Workshop supervisor and duties may involve;
 
  • Work alongside qualified industry professionals and providing support to ensure duties are completed within allocated timeframes
  • Completing a variety of Ad-Hoc Duties as directed
  • Assisting in other areas of Workshop/Yard as required
  • Supporting the team with general duties and ensuring workshop is kept clean and tidy
  • Following and complying with all service quality and safety standards, procedures and regulations 
Skills & Experience
 
  • Previous experience in a trades assistant role or having some sort of mechanical aptitude is highly desirable
  • Experience in using hand tools and hand operated power tools
  • Hold a current manual car Drivers license - Heavy Vehicle Licence would be highly regarded
  • Proven culture of safety, understanding hazard identification and risk assessment process
  • Excellent communication skills and a team focused attitude
  • A proactive approach to all tasks
  • Highly motivated and self-driven with high attention to detail
