Protech are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated person to join our client, Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal, for an exciting opportunity for career development.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Protech are partnering with DBCT P/L again for upskilling opportunities within our Protective Coatings and Structural Maintenance teams for the role of Trainee Supervisor. This means that previous experience as a supervisor isn’t mandatory as DBCT P/L are willing to invest in the coaching and support to develop your skills and ensure your success in your new venture.

  • Expression of Interest open until 31st May 2025.

  • Lifestyle roster 5/4/4/5 – day shift only and Shutdown roster 5/3 – day and night shift.

  • Maximum Term Full Time Contract – Annual and Personal Leave!

  • Home every night – perfect for Mackay/Sarina locals!

  • Full training provided!

  • Protech support team onsite Mon-Fri!

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Adherence to project timelines and effective management of resources.

  • Provision of reports to the Project Coordinator concerning project status and variations to the project plan.

  • Monitoring of work completed to ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.

  • Allocation of tasks and coordination of activities to support the execution of defined project activities. 

  • Effective utilisation of personnel and resources to achieve project outcomes. 

  • Flexible roster (at short notice) during shutdown to accommodate DBCT Project requirements.

  • Manage contractors from diverse occupational groups.

  • Risk Management through the site CDC – SHMS.

TICKETS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Previous experience as a trade qualified Painter/Blaster or Boilermaker is mandatory.

  • Previous experience in leading hand/supervisory roles is highly regarded.

  • Previous experience within a similar industry and environment. E.g. mining, oil, gas, etc.

  • Ability to work night shifts, weekends and public holidays.

  • Current Driver Licence

  • Trade Certificate

  • General Construction Induction (White Card)

  • Work Safely at Heights Certificate within 5 years of issue date

  • High Risk Work Licence – WP & LF highly regarded

  • Ability to obtain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) within the first 3 months of employment.
