Council is seeking to appoint a permanent full time Trainer and Assessor to contribute to Council’s success.

About the Role

The purpose of this position is to develop, coordinate and deliver competency-based training and conduct practical assessments to verify competency of employees using plant and equipment. This role will spend a significant amount of time in the field and will play an important role in supporting the development of our people and enabling safe, effective and compliant operations.

You will bring:

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or Bachelor of Education.
  • Accredited and competent in operating a wide range of yellow plant and equipment.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting competency assessments and managing high-volume training and assessment schedules.
  • Previous experience with the development, design, and delivery of training programs.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills, including experience in coaching and reporting.
  • Proven positive track record engaging with stakeholders to set goals, optimise productivity and achieve results.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of and experience interpreting and applying legislation and workplace policies.
  • Proficient and experienced in using Microsoft Office Suite and operating corporate business systems.
  • Current Work Safely in the Construction Industry (White Card).
