Trainer & Assessor - Mining Maintenance

Job Description

We are an industry leader in the mining and civil earthmoving industries with over 50 years’ experience and operate a large fleet of heavy earthmoving equipment across Australia. We take pride in our people, our safety culture and maintaining our equipment to a high standard.
 
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Trainer and Assessor to facilitate the training and assessment requirements for our Maintenance Department at the Carmichael Mine located at the Galilee Basin in regional Queensland. This is a FIFO role from Rockhampton or Townsville for an 8:6 roster.
 
Responsibilities of this role include:
  • Training and assessment of Maintenance and Plant staff
  • Assessment of High Risk Competencies & RII Competencies required for site compliance 
  • Assist to implement site specific training strategies and initiatives
  • Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and promptly
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and work within teams to develop and implement solutions
 Applicants must have:
  • Certificate 4 in Training and Assessment TAE40116
  • Qualified Worksafe High Risk Trainer 
  • RII competencies for a broad range of open cut machinery and maintenance RII's
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role
  • Committed to safety and a strong communicator to build strong partnerships in the operations
  • Demonstrated ability to show leadership and provide training and mentoring
  • High attention to detail with proven ability to effectively prioritise tasks and work to deadlines
  • A current Queensland driver licence
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook)
  • Interpersonal skills with high quality written and verbal communication, and ability to influence others in a positive way
