About the opportunity: Minecon are looking to employ an experienced Trainer Assessor/ WHS Advisor with a strong work ethic, who are looking for an ongoing and secure opportunity. This position will see you based on an open cut mine site near Middlemount.  This is a drive in, drive out role which comes with a company min spec vehicle. Requirements:

  • Proven and previous experience on an open cut mining environment as a Trainer Assessor and WHS Advisor

  • Current Coal Board Medical

  • Current Standard 11

  • Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety

  • Certificate IV Training and Assessment

  • Certified S1,2,3 & G2

  • Current Drivers licence

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Inductions: Facilitate site familiarisations and safety inductions for all new starters and contractors.

  • VOCs: Conduct Verifications of Competency (VOC) and final "pass outs" for heavy equipment operators.

  • Records: Manage the Compliance Management System (CMS) to ensure all licenses, tickets, and medicals are up to date.

  • Investigations: Lead site incident investigations and draft detailed reports to identify root causes.

  • Compliance: Monitor and enforce site safety protocols to ensure 100% legislative and internal alignment.

  • Testing: Administer routine and "for cause" Drug & Alcohol (D&A) testing.

  • Mentorship: Provide S1, S2, S3, and G2 level guidance to supervisors and site personnel to maintain a high-standard safety culture.
