Transfer Station Operator

Council is seeking to appoint a permanent full time Transfer Station Operator to contribute to Council’s success.

  • Permanent Full Time
  • Unique roster, working 7 days a fortnight, 6.45am – 5.45pm
  • Located at Gladstone Waste Management Station

About the Role

The purpose of this position is to provide efficient and effective operations for the management of waste and ensuring Council’s waste management facilities and waste transport operations are operated and maintained in accordance with Safety and Environmental Legislation and Council's requirements.

Roster pattern 3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off, 2 on, 2 off working 10.5 hours on each rostered day.

You will bring:

  • Proven ability to operate Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook.
  • Demonstrated experience operating Corporate Business systems such as Council's weighbridge software.
  • Experience and competency operating Front End Loader.
  • Experience in the operation of manual hand tools and power tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
  • Sound communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient keyboard skills.
  • Legally able to drive a motor vehicle in Queensland
