Youth Welfare Worker

About the role:

Our client located in Gladstone are looking for a Social Worker to support at-risk young people to improve their health, wellbeing and connection to community Working alongside a peer worker you will be the key to at-risk youth having access to our client's weekend workshops and weekly support groups.

Duties:

  • Connect with young people 12-24 years of age who are at a greater risk of disadvantage
  • Collaborate with community organisations
  • Assist young people with accessing our clients range of peer-programs and workshops
  • Communicate with and guide parents/carers/guardians of at-risk youth to support their growth
  • Utilise Salesforce to maintain thorough records and client information
  • Participate and support team leader to ensure that KPIs are being met, including the quality of support and number of at-risk youth accessing the clients services are being exceeded
  • Plan and participate in the delivery of communications and promotion of core activities to a range of stakeholders and community
  • Build and maintain relationships

    Skills and experience:
  • Eligible for registration with AASW (Australian Association of Social Workers) Bachelors or Masters of Social Work (Essential)
  • Confident with the ability to effectively communicate your ideas
  • Queensland Working with Childrens Check (PAID)
  • Current National Police Clearance
  • Unrestricted Queensland drivers licence and clean history
  • Demonstrate sound governance and have strong risk assessment skills and mandatory reporting
