$46p/h + superannuation (Casual)

About the role:

We are currently seeking casual Youth Workers to join our team in Rockhampton.

Our Youth Workers will support young people by providing a sense of safety, structure, acceptance, stability and security in our Residential Care homes and in the community.

What will a typical day look like?

  • Shift work
  • Engage with young people to support them in all aspects of life, both in the home and wider community.
  • Implement strategies identified in the care plan and participate in review of care plans to ensure young people have clear, relevant, and achievable goals.
  • Support planned contact and connectedness to family as approved by child safety services.
  • Support social, recreational, educational and health activities for young people in line with their individual care plan.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention/Community Services or working toward this qualification (proof of enrolment required). 

Alternative qualifications or working towards:

  • Certificate IV in Mental Health, Community Services or Youth Work
  • Diploma in Behavioural Science, Counselling, Nursing or Mental Health

  • A strong communicator, able to quickly build rapport and influence across a diverse range of people.

Other Requirements:

  • Full COVID-19 Vaccination
  • Ability to obtain a Blue Card (working with children check positive notice or exemption)
  • Ability to obtain a Yellow Card (disability services positive notice or exemption notice)
