Job Description

Carinity Education – Rockhampton have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Youth Worker – Student Wellbeing to join the team. As a Youth Worker – Student Wellbeing, you will collaborate with students and staff to cultivate a supportive and respectful school environment. Under the guidance of the Senior Youth Worker, you will help students navigate their academic journey, ensuring their social and emotional needs are met for a fulfilling educational experience.

A full-time position is available and requires availability Monday to Friday.

What do I need for the role?

  • Current Blue Card (Working with Children) check
  • Certificate IV in Youth Work, Education Support, Teacher Aide, or similar relevant discipline
  • Experience in providing Youth Work, education and support services to marginalised young people.
  • Ability to relate to youth at risk and to assist with behaviour management, including physical intervention and de-escalation techniques, to build positive and professional relationships.
  • Current Senior First Aid Certificate or willingness to be obtained.
  • Possession of a valid LR Driver’s Licence or willing to obtain (Drive the School mini bus)

Location: Carinity Education – Rockhampton
Carinity Education - Rockhampton is an independent special assistance school providing expert, coordinated support and educational opportunity to secondary school aged young people disenfranchised from mainstream schools for Grades 7 through to year 12 students.

The school is made up of two campuses. The senior school (Grade 9-12) is located at 46 Dawson Road Glenlee, and the junior school (Grade 7 and 8) is located at 16 School Street Mt Chalmers.
