Celebrating International Women's Day 2023

Posted on Monday, March 6, 2023 by EditorNo comments

International Women’s Day (IWD) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.

For IWD 2023, the global campaign theme is #EmbraceEquity. The theme seeks to get the world talking about why "equal opportunities are no longer enough".

At Jobs in Central Queensland, we #EmbraceEquity for #IWD2023 and beyond. We are extremely proud of the overall diversity in our team, including the representation of women who have been hired for their outstanding skills, experience, and potential.

In honour of IWD, we would like to highlight the wonderful women in our team and what IWD means to each of us.

Wendy Hannan, Regional Manager

“International Women's Day is a great day to celebrate how females are treated in the workplace in this beautiful country I now call home - Australia. This is a day to celebrate how amazing it is, knowing I am surrounded by inspirational woman and hope I can be that person for others.”

Jodi Trood, Trade Talent Advisor

“International Women's Day is a reminder of how we can support and empower our colleagues, friends and family.  I am grateful to be in a country where I have access to education, employment, freedom of speech and even the right to vote. I am thankful for the positive and wonderful females that are in my life.”

Jess Sporne, Trade Talent Advisor

“International Women's Day to me is about honouring women for who they are! A day to highlight key events, milestones, and achievements. Special thanks to all the women who have been a part of my journey and allowed me to be a part of theirs.”

Noha Fakhry, Executive Assistant

“International Women’s Day is a fantastic and special day. It’s the day that indicates the respect and the appreciation of all women for their achievements in the community. Women contribute greatly to the community in all fields. They face many challenges in order to achieve balance between success in working life and the responsibility of caring for their families and despite of these challenges, they continue to give and give.

In everyone’s life there must be a woman who has played an important role. From my heart, I would like to thank every woman as a mother, sister, friend, daughter and worker who gave and continue to provide her community and her family all the love.”

Ash Phillips, Marketing Advisor

"International Women's Day is a wonderful reminder to recognise and embrace all of the women in our community and around the globe. I will forever by grateful for the support and acceptance I receive from the women around me. I know for certain that I wouldn't be the person I am today without these incredible ladies. This day should inspire us to uplift the women in our life because it makes such a positive impact."

We can all play a part. Each one of us can actively support and #EmbraceEquity within our own sphere of influence. If you would like to learn more about International Women’s Day and how you can forge positive change, visit https://www.internationalwomensday.com
